Assistant Headteacher - Sixth Form

The Assistant Headteacher – Sixth Form will provide compelling leadership and vision to ensure an excellent and thriving Sixth Form. The post holder will be responsible for leading the strategic direction of Sixth Form.  To be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, to liaise with all key stakeholders including Heads of Year, Heads of Department, SLT, classroom teachers, form tutors and parents to help ensure that each student in the Sixth Form is known as an individual, is happy, healthy and feels safe and cared for.   To communicate a clear ambitious vision, in line with the values of the school, for the academic achievement of students in the Sixth Form with the aim of raising the personal and academic aspirations of students.   To have a strong focus on working with key stakeholders on student retention and recruitment into Sixth Form.  To assist in the development and quality assurance of teaching and learning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assistant Headteacher – Sixth Form · Leading, guiding, supporting and advising the Sixth Form team and ensuring consistency of pastoral and academic approach  · To develop the future vision and direction/development of Sixth Form  · Representing the interests of Sixth Form at all Leadership Team meetings. Ensuring the Sixth Form provision is increasingly integrated into the work and life of the whole school  · Work closely with Head of Year 12 & 13 to provide excellent pastoral care and support · Ensuring that Sixth Form contributes to and supports the ethos, vision and development plan of the school · Provide a safe environment for all students and staff with Safeguarding as a priority.     · Reviewing Sixth Form policies and procedures to ensure compliance against all relevant criteria and relevant standards.  · To attend recruitment events · Weekly meetings with the Sixth Form team    Safeguarding  • Ensure that you fully understand and implement all of the roles and responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding C
