To play a key role in leading the school’s pastoral care strategy, ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and develop the school’s whole-school pastoral care and wellbeing strategy.
Promote a positive school culture that prioritizes student wellbeing, safeguarding, and behaviour management.
Oversee the implementation of behaviour policies, student support systems, and pastoral programmes.
Work closely with Heads of Year, teachers, counsellors, and safeguarding leads to support student wellbeing.
Monitor student attendance, engagement, and behaviour, implementing early intervention strategies where needed.
Liaise with parents and external agencies to support students’ social and emotional development.
Lead initiatives that promote student voice, leadership, and personal development.
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are consistently implemented in line with UAE and UK best practices.
Support staff training and development in pastoral care and student wellbeing.
Contribute to school improvement planning and inspection readiness (KHDA/DSIB).
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject
Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE / B.Ed. or equivalent)
Proven leadership experience within a British curriculum school
Strong understanding of pastoral systems, safeguarding, and student wellbeing frameworks
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents in a multicultural environment
Knowledge of KHDA inspection framework is desirable
