Artist in ResidenceBased at Beal High SchoolWoodford Bridge Road, Ilford, IG4 5LPRequired for September 2026Salary: circa £35k FTE1-year fixed-termFull-time or part-time (pro rata) Beacon Academy Trust are currently seeking to appoint a highly inspirational and academically skilled Artist in Residence, with exceptional subject knowledge and the ability to teach Fine Art up to A-Level. Our whole-school approach ensures a high profile is consistently maintained for the Arts. Our commitment to the Arts is reflected in our range of offer in GCSEs, BTECs and A levels in Fine Art, Engineering, Music, Music Technology, 3D Design, Media and Drama and we hold the Arts Mark Gold Award. This diverse range supports our students as they look to the future making the Creative Arts a viable career path. The students study a range of academic A-levels alongside Fine Art and would like them to be supported by the Artist in Residence to expand their artistic knowledge and practice through studio work, critique and enrichment. The Art Suite serves as a centre of Arts Curriculum Excellence, with specialist facilities including studios, a dedicated gallery space and outdoor space for exceptional art installations, supporting collaborations with creative practitioners and local schools as part of our network of Artsmark schools in Redbridge. The successful candidate will have strong postgraduate qualifications and be passionate and committed to the Arts. A teaching qualification is not required for this post, but a passion and aptitude for teaching and imparting knowledge is essential. The successful applicant will enjoy a reduced teaching load to give more time for subject development and the sharing of best practice. This post would suit a passionate artist on either a part-time or full-time basis.
