About this role
Position OverviewThe AL High School Economics Teacher delivers rigorous, engaging, and student-centered instruction in AL Economics to students in grades 11-12. The role focuses on developing students‘ abilities in economic reasoning, data interpretation, analytical thinking, and evidence-based evaluation, while preparing them for university education and informed global citizenship.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum DeliveryDeliver AL Economics lessons (microeconomics and macroeconomics) for Grades 11-12.
Integrate AI techniques and digital tools to enhance economic modeling and data analysis.
Bridge economic theory with real-world applications and university preparation.
Differentiate instruction for multilingual learners while maintaining high expectations.
Assessment & Exam PreparationProvide targeted tutoring for AL Economics exams (data response, essays, multiple choice).
Design monthly, mid-term, and end-of-semester exams.
Coach students for top university admissions interviews.
Use data and rubrics to provide timely feedback and track progress.
Student Support & EnrichmentPrepare students for AL Economics examinations.
Offer academic support through office hours and individual conferencing.
Lead enrichment activities (e.g., Economics Club, research projects, interdisciplinary collaboration).
Collaboration & Professional DutiesCollaborate with AL leadership, counselors, Chinese and foreign colleagues.
Communicate professionally with parents and stakeholders.
Participate in meetings, reporting cycles, school events, and professional development.
QualificationsEducation: Master‘s degree (or higher) in Economics or a related field.
Teaching Certification: Valid teaching license or certification.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of successful A-Level Economics teaching experience.
