Worth Abbey is a Community of English Benedictine monks living a life of Prayer & Hospitality –with a vibrant Parish and Retreat House. The role We are looking for an Organ Scholar to play for liturgies here at Worth Abbey, to complement the offerings of our existing rota of highly-skilled and devoted professional organists. What we’re looking for We seek a highly motivated organist who is keen to develop their accompaniment and repertoire skills further, particularly within the context of a Roman Catholic environment. It is envisaged that this position may best be suited to a postgraduate applicant, although applications from strong gap-year and undergraduate organists will of course be considered. The position is available initially for one year (renewable for a further period of up to one year by mutual agreement), with the start date also being negotiable. Ideally, we are looking for a scholar from mid-October 2026. What we’re offering The Abbey Organ Scholarship attracts an annual stipend of £9,250 and we offer flexibility in terms of ‘time off’ where holidays can be arranged in advance.
