The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Sociology Lecturer / Teacher to deliver high-quality A-Level teaching and support student success. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking team dedicated to excellent teaching, learning, and student progression.
You will play a key role in delivering engaging Sociology lessons, supporting students’ academic and personal development, and contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
· Deliver and assess A-Level Sociology (AS & A2) teaching
· Develop engaging, student-centred learning strategies that drive achievement and progression
· Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching materials
· Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
· Provide tutorial and pastoral support to students
· Contribute to student recruitment activities including interviews, enrolment, and induction
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to design and deliver curriculum content
· Maintain accurate course and assessment records
· Participate in quality assurance, course review, and evaluation processes
· Liaise with external stakeholders, including employers and awarding bodies
· Engage in continuous professional development
Who You Are:
· Degree (or equivalent) in Sociology
· Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
· Experience teaching A-Level Sociology
· Strong ability to plan and deliver effective lessons
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to support students from diverse backgrounds
· Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
· A collaborative, team-oriented approach
