This is more than a classroom support role. You’ll become a trusted and consistent presence in a young person’s school day, helping them overcome barriers, discover their strengths and develop the confidence, independence and skills they need for the future. You’ll be part of a supportive team who will work alongside you, helping you develop your skills and giving you the opportunity to see the real difference your work makes. What you will be doing Provide dedicated 1:1 support, helping a pupil access learning and work towards their individual goals. Build a positive, trusting relationship, providing consistency, encouragement and reassurance. Adapt activities and approaches to support the pupil’s communication, learning, emotional and social needs. Encourage independence, confidence, communication and positive engagement throughout the school day. Support the pupil across a variety of settings, including classroom learning, outdoor activities, enrichment and educational visits. Work closely with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals to provide consistent, personalised support.
