Carla is a distinguished interdisciplinary international thought leader in Education Futures and AIEdTech, bringing transformative vision, foresight and execution to the global education landscape. Following leadership roles at UCL Institute of Education, as Director of Futures and Global Digital Director - Education at Cambridge University Press, she was asked to set up the interdisciplinary think tank, the Tmrw Institute, uniting government representatives, policymakers, researchers, educators, and innovators. Her expertise spans engagement with WEF's AI Network, Brookings Institution’s AI Taskforce, and Cambridge University’s Digital Futures Education Initiative’s board. Having mentored 150+ startups and leading the Next Billion EdTech Prize for resource poor contexts, Carla specializes in digital innovation, AIED, and education transformation futures and strategy. As an independent consultant, she guides C-suite executives and international education organizations, while her speaking and writing focus on the convergence of technology, learning, and societal advancement.
